Dalikrab Day F.A.Q. / Revised 2012 by Justynn Tyme

What Is Dalikrab Day?
Dalikrab Day is a celebration of ART AND INSANITY AND FUN. It's a holiday for throwing off the shackles of reality. Pasting an outrage mustache on your face, mussing up your hair and littering the world with your art. Dalikrab Day is partly a tribute to Salvadore Dali and a direct inspiration of his "insanity" and philosophy of "I donŐt care what anyone thinks. I am dali, dali, dali, goddammit!"
Dalikrab Day is rather unique holiday without limitations. It has no rules, no traditions, and no rituals. There are no goals, and there is no point or reasoning behind Dalikrab day. It is an idea. This idea is insanity. It's about what impulses drive the artist. It's about immersing yourself in yourself. It's about that spark within us that explodes out through our art. It's not about pride or egos its about lego's dipped in chocolate. It's about standing on top of an open umbrella in a downpour. Dalikrab Day is the celebration of insanity.

When is Dalikrab Day?
It begins promptly on March 31 ST every year and continues on until there is five days of inactivity. Do not be fooled by the simplicity of that statement. Dalikrab Day can and has lasted almost a month! It has also only lasted two days. So there is no telling how long it can last. Keep that in mind if you are a procrastinator like me.

What happens on Dalikrab Day?
Dalikrab Day is user-friendly holiday so anything is possible. There is no limitation to your imagination. All we ask is that you document the celebration and post it to the blog to inspiration others.

Who Celebrates Dalikrab Day?
Dalikrab Day is very Dadaist in its nature; meaning it's a holiday for everyone! Artists of any and all kind: silly or serious, wordsmith or woodworker. Everyone is welcome and encourage to fain insane and create and/or manipulate weird art, the weirder and wilder the better.
The non-artist and non-artistic are especially welcome and are challenged to drop all limitations and intimidations. Pick up the mantle of artistry and create. You can make just one piece or dozen pieces. Every piece of art is art - no matter the conviction of its creator. Then watch to see who manipulates that and into what.
Let the art ego run amuck and try to inspire awe in your fellow participants but always remember that the main ingredient in Dalikrab Day is super, happy, fun time!

How do I start?
Prior to Dalikrab Day bookmark, follow or join the blog. That's where everything happens. Then once things get moving join right in by pulling pieces from the blog and manipulating them and posting them back to the blog with any original pieces you do as well.
Create a piece of art of anykind, send that piece of art you've just created (text, image, sound, photo etc.) to 'Dalikrab Day Blog' where possibly a hundred other people will snatch your piece and re-arrange it, change it, alter it or destroy it. They will then send it back to 'Dalikrab Day Blog' for someone else to do the same thing. Repeat as necessary.
